The initial purpose of the NamHIRIS (Nam's Health Incident Reporting and Improvement System) is to: 1) Ensure that serious adverse events involving persons receiving publicly-funded mental health, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse (MH/DD/SAS) services are addressed quickly; 2) Analyze trends to prevent future occurrences; and, 3) Improve the service system.

NamHIRIS is a commercial off-the-shelf COTS and customizable software application that provides an integrated web - based application that collects, analyzes and reports data elements in an incident reporting system for health care environment. The software application is designed to establish health incident reporting specifically for General Health, Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse marketplace, with a proven track record of support to the business and understanding of the requirements of the reporting process.

The NamHIRIS software application provides a standard set of online forms to collect incident data, analyze the data, and format the data for transmission to a provider.
